Aaa Luxeon

A LED lighting question?
Would a LED be damaged or deteriorated in any way (in mean of light output) if the amperage was increased but the voltage kept the same? For example, I was wondering if I could change the power source of a 3W Luxeon from 3 AAA’s, to 3 AA’s or even 3 D’s without damaging the LED?
No damage. The LED will draw the same current (amperage) regardless of the battery size as long as the batteries are fresh. Bigger batteries will just last longer, i.e. have more energy. Ohms law says Voltage = Current times Resistance. For LED the Resistance is not constant but varies over the voltage applied. Since the voltage is the same for 3AAA, 3AA, 3C, or 3D, then the resistence is the same at that voltage of 4.5 Volts. Thus it will draw the same current for any types of battery arrangement that has 4.5 Volts.
