Army Mosquito

Army Mosquito
Deployment care packages?

My husband’s first deployment is in Oct/Nov. He is a soldier in the US Army and I would like ideas on what to send him. I have thought of things such as
Ramen Noodles
Peanut butter/jelly
cookies/chips
baby wipes
flea/tick collars (to put on his ankles OUTSIDE HIS CLOTHING for sand fleas-unless a better way to ward them off is found)
dryer sheets (mosquito repellant when rubbed on your skin)
his bible if he doesnt take it
pictures and letters
deodorant
shaving cream/razor
instant oatmeal
homemade goodies
dvds for if he’s around a computer
crosswork puzzles/books
toothbrushes/paste/floss
sunscreen/lip balm
callingcard
sour candy belts (he loves those things)
nail clippers
hand sanitizers
gum
notepad/pen
beanie babies (small toys for little children the soldiers might run into)
What am I missing?? Ideas would be great! thanks!

I always sent silly little random things along with the “important” stuff. I say “important” because in my experience, the silly little things mean just as much or MORE than the things they actually request. Those things can be little things to remind him of you and home, perhaps something to make him remember in inside joke between you too. As far as the general stuff… EasyMac is a BIG one. Individual packets of drink mix (Kool-Aid, Gatorade, Crystal Ice, etc…) Packs of Skittles, Starbursts, etc… That are individually wrapped and can be stuck in pockets to take along on missions, etc without worry of melting or spilling. Also, SOCKS are sometimes drastically needed and requested! LOL I am sure he will let you know about those types of things though! Hope this helps!

OH! And spray perfume on your letters. ;) Believe me, they still smell just as good when they get there. His buddies will all be jealous and anytime he misses you, he can read one.
