Flat Head
My 6.5 months old has a flat head. How can I help without making helmet therapy, which has been suggested?
head is really flat, not a little, but many things. She used to sleep on his side. His doctor recommends treatment helmet. We are open to suggestion that might prevent this course of action. We are beginning to use a memory foam the night and she is now having more time … will this help?
Honestly, 6.5 months, repositioning will do very little. I know this b / c my son ended up having a band DOC 7 months and he was until about 10 months after …. memory foam, aggressive repositioning etc. It depends on the severity, if it just needs a few millimeters correction and repositioning can help. However, if it is still very flat now, you need to seriously consider the helmet. I did not do … It's expensive, insurance does not cover the (mostly) and I did not want people staring at him. But with hindsight (he is 20 months now) I am soooooo glad I put in the DOC Band! His head quickly and dramatically improve in three months and I know it would not take place without it. I not trying to push the helmet on you, I just know you'll never look back and say: "I would not have been in a band, but you might say: "I have done something when I had the chance. I joined the first and there are very good stories of people who have had success with two of repositioning and helmets.
