Flint Rod

How do you remove a ram rod muzzleloader?
My son put the bar ram on my muzzleloader, without ammunition, and it seems be blocked or jammed. I searched a lever to release it found nothing. I just got the barrel a month ago and do not know much but Black Diamond is a 50 cal that does not require flintlock.
I also Thompson Center Black Diamond. I agree with some else stuck in the barrel besides the cleaning rod. If it were mine here is what I would do. Start with a disassembly by removing stocks and the tip of the receiver. Then remove all of the attacker and use your key is provided to remove the nipple and breech plug. They should both get out easily, I can not see the rod stuck on these. Once done, the entire rear of the receiver will be open. I can take hardwood doweling that nearly half an inch as possible, but not 1 / 2 inch. Insert it in the back of the receiver and hold it in place. Lift the gun and rod in one piece and gently pin strike against a hard surface (flooring that will not be damaged). It should begin to grow Stud cylinder head and help force the cleaning rod and obstruction of the finish. That should do.
