Orienteering Camping
Is there something similar to the Boy Scouts for adults?
I was wondering if anyone knew of a similar organization in principle to the Boy Scouts. As an Eagle Scout I think it would be really cool to basically have a group of friends that you could hike, camping, etc. and with the same time to acquire knowledge (something like merit badges), basically just for the sake of acquiring knowledge. Guidance Wilderness Survival, Hiking, that kind of thing. Basically an excuse to go out and relax, but challenge your brain and body simultaneously. Nobody know anything like that?
Hi Justin:) One way to accomplish what you want is to volunteer as a leader queue of adults with a troop of Boy Scouts. You learn to go on all trips and acquire skills that help young people learn. Although you will unable to earn merit badges directly, I can guarantee you that you will get an equal (or greater satisfaction) when young earn with your orientation. Be efficient assistant Scoutmaster or Scoutmaster will certainly be a challenge, but it can be very rewarding.
