Help needed with gauge wire for 12v circuit led lighting?
I want to install a voltage of 12 LED light circuit in the eaves my house. The LED units is 2w each with 18, spread over a length of 70 meters total. I know that, because the voltage drop, the size of cable is essential, but am not sure how to calculate the power that is at varying distances from the source, a battery charged by a air-driven generator. Thank you for any help.
becaue you use LED lamps not incandesscant, the effect of voltage drop will not be as dramatic .. but will be present. However, the total of 3 amps could be better divided into three groups amp a piece / 6 group. The voltage drop will be proprtional today. While more than 1 amps 1 ohm is 1 V (volts = current / reststance), not much to 220V, but nearly 10% 12 V! So make sure the cable as well as good with one minor run as possible, ideally, the power source of 12 V would as close as possible to the lamps. So no chance he may be central .. and 3 short front overhang 70m not a total end? even by 6 works … to further reduce losses.
